Running accounts for your customers
Create an account for a customer, choose their plan, work inside it, and close it when they leave.
What a client account is
An ordinary account. Your customer gets their own settings, their own users, their own domains and their own roles — nothing in the product tells their staff the account belongs to anybody but them.
What is different is who pays and who else can open the door. You are invoiced for it, and your staff can sign into it to help.
Creating one
- Open Clients and press New client.
- Enter the company, their first user's work address, and the plan you sold them. The domain of that address becomes the company's, and only addresses on it can join.
- Set a temporary password. It is shown once; send it to them with the address.
Working inside one
Press Open on any client. You are then in their account, as yourself, with a banner saying whose it is. Everything you do there is written to their audit log with your name on it — including opening it at all, because reading somebody's account is the part they would otherwise never see.
Back to your account returns you without signing you out of anything.
Suspending and closing
Suspend when a customer stops paying you: their sign-in stops, their codes stop resolving, and they stop counting towards your bill. Nothing is lost and you can lift it.
Close when they leave for good. It is the same closure any account gets — everything goes, and their printed codes stop working immediately, which is why it asks you to type DELETE.
If a customer leaves you rather than us
Ask us. We can move the account to another reseller or set it free to bill itself, and either way it keeps its codes, its scans and its people. Neither is something you or the receiving company can do unilaterally, which is deliberate: the moment it comes up is usually a disagreement.
