Setting up a custom domain

Four steps, and the one risk worth understanding first.

Understand this first

A code printed with your own domain depends on that DNS record existing for as long as the code does. If the domain lapses, every printed code stops working and cannot be reissued — the artwork is already out there.

Our hostname carries no such risk, which is why it stays the default. Use your own domain when the branding is worth that responsibility.

Setting it up

  1. Open Settings, then Domains, and add the hostname you want to use — usually something like go.yourcompany.com.
  2. Add the DNS record we show you at your DNS provider.
  3. Wait for verification. It usually takes minutes; DNS can take longer.
  4. Once it says active, new codes and links offer it as their address.
Codes already printed with our hostname keep working. Changing a domain never rewrites an existing code.
