Uploading files and pointing codes at them

Images, PDFs, audio, video and documents, and why the address never changes.

The point of it

A code that points at a file in your library carries our address, not the file's. Replace the menu, the price list or the manual and every printed code follows it. A code printed with a storage URL cannot survive the file being replaced, which is the whole reason the library exists.

What you can upload

Images (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF), PDFs, audio (MP3, M4A, WAV), video (MP4), documents (Word, Excel, text, CSV) and fonts. Twenty-five megabytes per file.

Audio files

An audio file gets a player page rather than a download: the recording's name, whose it is, and a play button, with the file itself still available for anyone who wants it. Point a code at that page and somebody scanning a museum label hears the guide instead of watching a file download.

Replacing a file

Use Replace on the file rather than uploading a new one and repointing the code. Replacing keeps the id, the address and every code aimed at it.
