Building a form and reading the answers

Fields, notifications, exports and what happens to a response.

Fields

Short text, long text, email, phone, number, date, dropdown, single choice and tick box. Each can be required. Order them however you like; the shorter the form, the more answers it gets.

Being told

Put an address in "Notify this address on every response" and every answer arrives by email as it is submitted, laid out, with a link to the rest. Leave it empty and nothing is sent; the answers are stored either way.

Reading them

The Responses tab lists them, most recent first. Export the lot as CSV — up to five thousand — for anything you want to do elsewhere.

Spam

Every form carries a hidden field and a timing check. A submission that fills the hidden field, or that arrives impossibly fast, is discarded silently — the sender is shown the same thank-you a person sees, because telling a bot why it failed only helps it get past next time.
